I connect people, data and technology to solve business problems.
I started in sales. After a rotational internship at NewsBank I moved into an account sales role, and then I became the only account manager for the international schools market: about 14,000 schools across 154 countries. There was no territory plan, so I built one, segmenting by tuition level and time zone and planning my days around who was awake. Pipeline grew roughly 170% in the first year.
Then COVID-19 hit and most of my accounts tried to cancel. Keeping all but six of them taught me more about how customers make decisions than anything before or since.
In 2021 I moved into marketing. I ran campaign production and reporting, then took on segmentation, send strategy and the reporting that connected engagement back to Sales. Somewhere in there I got more interested in the systems behind the work than in any single campaign: the CRM, the email platform, the data moving between them and the reports leadership actually reads.
That's the job I have now. I own CRM strategy, analytics, martech and vendor management across NewsBank and Readex, and I report to the CMO.
What I enjoy most is connecting the dots. Sitting with different teams, figuring out what they actually need, working out what the data is saying and making the systems behind the work run better. The projects I'm proudest of look like that: a four-brand platform migration that substantially reduced annual platform spend, a 190,000-record CRM audit that rebuilt our sender reputation, and reporting that gives sales managers early warning on at-risk accounts.
Over the last few years, applied AI has become a real part of how I work. Not writing marketing copy, though it does that too. Analyzing large datasets, speeding up research, structuring executive reports and building workflows that solve specific operational problems. One example is a contact-enrichment workflow that uses email-domain and CRM data to match new contacts to likely accounts and sales owners. I'm not an engineer. I know the business well enough to see where AI helps, and I'm comfortable building the workflow and checking its output.
Outside of NewsBank I run Yonder LLC, a small consultancy doing marketing, media production, executive client support and business operations for a physician-led concierge health and wellness practice. It's put me on set as the sole on-site producer for national television appearances, behind the camera for a twice-weekly live video series, and in front of clients who include C-suite executives and current and former federal officials. It's a different world from B2B marketing operations, and it's made me better at both.
The work I'm most drawn to sits where people, systems, data and revenue come together. If you're hiring for something in that territory, even if the title doesn't match mine, I'd like to hear about it.
The rest of it
I grew up in Vail, so skiing was never really optional. It still isn’t. I’m a scratch golfer, which sounds impressive until you realize how much time that takes. I travel whenever I can. I genuinely enjoy personal finance, and yes, the spreadsheets occasionally follow me home. And I somehow have a silver medal from the U.S. Open Pickleball Championship. It was the 3.5 division, but a medal is a medal.
